Terms

The terms.

01What this is

Elevator is a subscription product run by Break Into Tech, doing business as Elevator (“we”, “us”). It gives you methods, tools and a place to keep your own records about your pay and your work. By creating an account or subscribing, you agree to these terms.

You have to be at least 18 to use it, and able to enter a contract where you live.

02The subscription

The subscription is $39 a month or $349 a year, in US dollars, charged in advance at the start of each period through Stripe. It renews on its own at the end of each period until you cancel. The price you subscribe at stays your price for as long as your subscription runs without a break; if we change the price, we tell you by email at least thirty days before it applies to you.

You can cancel at any time from your settings page, in one click, by the same means you signed up. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the period you have already paid for, and you keep access until then. We do not refund the unused part of a period, and there is no free trial.

If a payment fails, Stripe retries it. If it keeps failing, access pauses until it goes through.

03What it is not

Nothing here is legal, financial, tax or employment advice. We state facts and cite where they came from, and you decide what to do with them. Nothing here promises you a raise, a promotion, an interview, a job or any other outcome. What happens in your negotiation depends on you and your employer, not on us.

04Your account and your records

What you write down in the product is yours. We do not sell it, share it or use it for anything other than showing it back to you and running the product. You can export everything at any time, and you can delete your account from your settings, which deletes your records outright.

Keep your password to yourself. You are responsible for what happens under your account.

05Using it properly

One account is for one person. Do not share your login, copy the methods to resell them, scrape the product, try to break into it, or use it for anything unlawful. We can close an account that does, and in that case the subscription ends without a refund.

06Our content

The methods, tools, text and design are ours or licensed to us. Your subscription lets you use them for yourself. It does not transfer any of it to you.

07Limits

The product is provided as it is. We work to keep it accurate and available, and we cannot promise it will never be wrong or never go down. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability to you for anything arising from the product is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.

08Changes and the law

We may change these terms. If a change matters, we tell you by email before it takes effect, and continuing to use the product after that means you accept it. These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
